Nepal has more internet users than its population
The Nepal Telecoms Authority, the country’s telecommunications regulator, reports that the number of internet users in Nepal has surpassed 36 million.
Surprisingly, the number of people having internet connection exceeds the whole population of Nepal.
According to the authorities, the number of individuals using the internet exceeds the population since officials calculate the number of subscriptions as the number of users, and one person may have subscribed to many internet connections.
According to the NTA’s most recent statistics, the country has 36 million and 41,000 Web users, respectively.
They use the internet on mobile phones 74.63% of the time and have fixed-line internet subscriptions 24.77% of the time.
According to data, the number of Web users has risen by 14.6 million in the last two years.
