Nepal Covid-19 tally: 68 new cases, 538 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

As of Sunday afternoon, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,117,046 people, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

In the last 24 hours, 68 additional cases have been verified in the country, according to the department.

During this time, 3,135 swab samples were analysed using the RT-PCR method, with 54 of them yielding positive results.

Similarly, 1,794 people had antigen tests for the virus, with 14 of them being positive.

The overall per-day positivity rate remained at 1.37 percent, with 1.72 percent of PCR and 0.78 percent of antigen samples returning positive.

There are 6,461 active cases across the country as of today. 123 of them are in hospitals, 47 of them in intensive care units, and nine of them are on ventilators.

538 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, according to the administration, while two people have died today.

So far, 959,093 people have recovered from their injuries. According to the ministry, 11,947 people died. The recovery rate in the country is 98.1 percent, while the death rate is 1.2 percent.

In the meanwhile, 88,566 persons were immunised today.
