A parliamentary committee will be formed to look into allegations that Finance Minister Janardan Sharma brought unauthorised people into the ministry during the budget process in order to change tax rates.
Minister Sharma is accused of bringing former nayab subba (non-gazetted first-class government employee) Raghunath Ghimire and others to the ministry during the budget’s finalisation on May 28 night in order to change tax rates.
According to a Baluwatar source, the parliamentary committee that will be formed on Wednesday will investigate those allegations.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma informed the expanded central office meeting held at the residence of CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal that he will present his side of the story in the House on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the main opposition CPN-UML has already stated that Minister Sharma will not be allowed to speak in the House.
